About Us

The REACH program was spearheaded by Dr. Rona Levy and Dr. Tonya Palermo. They are both professors at the University of Washington and clinical psychologists.

Rona Levy, PhD.

A primary focus of Dr. Levy’s research has been on persons with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and their children, and she has published extensively and given numerous presentations on this topic. She states “The most important goals of my work are to improve the quality of life and reduce the negative consequences of IBS on individuals and their families.” 

Tonya Palermo, PhD.

Dr. Palermo directs the Pediatric Pain and Sleep Innovations Lab at Seattle Children’s Hospital dedicated to “improving the lives of children with chronic pain.” Dr. Palermo is an expert in innovative psychological treatments for managing and preventing chronic pain and publishes articles and books on this topic.
